Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a form of psychotherapy for children emotionally aged 3 to 11 that uses play as the primary way to help them express and understand difficult feelings.
It is an Integrative Holistic approach. People choose from the mediums in the room and through metaphor and play explore the themes that are most pertinent to them. Alongside this the therapist introduces more directed interventions, when appropriate, and the person can use them as they wish.
By using play, the child can explore their thoughts and feelings in creative and dynamic ways, without having to use words to articulate themselves.
Mediums used can be; drawing and painting, water and clay, sand tray and miniatures, guided imagery and relaxation techniques, drama and puppetry, poetry, movement and music.
The cost of Play Therapy is based on the number of sessions, meetings and reports required.
Consultancy
I am able to create bespoke packages that utilise my experiences and training to unpick a child's history and present needs to create an action plan.
These packages can include meetings, observations and assessments.
Family Intervention
My next training will be how to help the family unit.
